Accessibility Statement
AMCE is committed to making our digital engineering presence accessible to all visitors, including individuals with disabilities and diverse assistive technologies.
Organisation: Aerospace & Mechanical Consulting Engineers Pty Ltd (trading as AMCE)
Scope: Public digital portal at amce.com.au
1. Our Commitment to Accessibility
AMCE believes that digital aerospace engineering and corporate communications should be usable by everyone, regardless of physical ability, cognitive diversity, or assistive technology.
We strive to adhere to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA, established by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C), and ensure compatibility with modern screen readers, keyboard navigation tools, and voice control software.
2. Technical Accessibility Measures Implemented
During the design and engineering of amce.com.au, the following technical standards were prioritized:
A. Color Contrast & Visual Design
- High-Contrast Text Hierarchy: Body text rendered in pure white (
#FFFFFF) against deep aerospace navy (#080C1E/#0E1430) provides a contrast ratio exceeding 17:1, well exceeding the WCAG AAA requirement of 7:1. - Accents & Interactive Elements: Interactive links and buttons are verified for minimum 4.5:1 contrast against their respective background surfaces.
- Visual Focus Indicators: High-visibility cyan outline rings (
#00A9E0) highlight all interactive elements during keyboard navigation.
B. Semantic Structure & Keyboard Navigation
- Semantic HTML5 Elements: Standard use of
<header>,<nav>,<main>,<article>,<section>, and<footer>elements to provide logical document outlines. - Keyboard Traversal: Full tab-order navigation across all navigation menus, cards, dropdowns, and interactive form fields without keyboard traps.
- Skip to Content Link: An accessible skip link allowing screen reader and keyboard users to bypass header navigation and jump directly to main page content.
C. Descriptive Imagery & Technical Schematics
- Alternative Text (Alt Text): All operational aircraft photographs, product close-ups, and engineering line drawings include meaningful alternative text descriptions explaining technical context.
- Non-Text Content: Decorative background graphics and watermarks are marked with
aria-hidden="true"to prevent screen reader clutter.
D. Form Usability & Error Handling
- Explicit Labeling: Every input field in our Contact Form utilizes explicit
<label for="...">associations andaria-required="true"attributes. - Descriptive Error Messages: Real-time form validation provides clear, text-based feedback indicating the exact nature and location of any submission errors.
3. PDF Collateral Accessibility
While we endeavour to make all downloadable documents as accessible as possible, some historical engineering drawings, legacy military schematics, and high-density print brochures may present readability barriers to assistive technology.
If you encounter difficulty accessing any content within our downloadable PDF brochures (such as the Capability Statement or Product Datasheets), please contact us, and our team will gladly provide an accessible plain-text or alternative format version.
4. Accessibility Feedback & Assistance
We actively welcome feedback on the accessibility of our website. If you encounter any accessibility barriers or have suggestions for improvement:
