MRH90 Pyrotechnics and Heliraft Stowage System (PHSS)
Enables safe storage and transportation of pyrotechnics for search and rescue missions, and provides safe restraint of a life raft within the aircraft.
AMCE Stowage Container and Life Raft Stowage installed in the MRH90 main cabin.
Stowage Container
To conduct search and rescue (SAR) missions effectively, it is important that marine markers, SAR datum buoys and/or smoke grenades can be carried safely within the aircraft. These stores are hand launched from the aircraft by aircrew.
The AMCE Stowage Container exists for this special purpose. Installed within the main cabin of the aircraft during SAR operations, it provides safe storage and transportation, and easy access to SAR stores.
The Stowage Containers are capable of carrying various combinations of stores, including, but not limited to:
- Mk 2 SAR Datum Buoys
- Mk 58 Marine Markers
- Mk 25 Marine Markers
- Mk 84 Signals Underwater Sound (SUS)
- HC AN-M8 / M18 / A100 Smoke Grenades
Life Raft Stowage
Overwater operations require the stowage of a life raft in case of ditching. The AMCE Life Raft Stowage system safely restrains the life raft within the aircraft, and provides ready access and quick release in the event of ditching.
Modular by Design
The Stowage Container and Life Raft Stowage are modular by design to meet various mission load requirements. In addition, they are quick and easy to install, remove or reconfigure.
The Stowage Container and Life Raft Stowage are:
- Role equipment purpose built for SAR missions
- Modular in design
- Installed on the aircraft within 30 minutes
- Installed using existing cabin restraint points
- Installed without the need for specific tooling
- Able to be customised to customer requirements
Five configurations to choose from:
- 1 Stowage Container
- 2 Stowage Containers
- 1 Stowage Container + 1 Life Raft Stowage
- 2 Life Raft Stowages
